2nd FESTIMENC International Festival of Honorable Mentions RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL 2009
R U L E S
1 - Could participate FESTIMENC the 2nd, professional and amateur artists, living in Brazil or others countries, provided they respect the rules of this regulation. Will be accepted work produced digitally, as well as sculptures or other proposals, provided that the perpetrators sending in the vertical direction, taking steps such as the A3 format (29.7 x 42 cm), as follows:

CARICATURE/ HUMOUR PORTRAIT: Theme: "JORGE BENJOR" (Brazilian singer and composer)

CARTOON: Theme: "DRAGOON or WARRIOR"

CHARGE: Theme: “POLITICS IN THE WORLD”

2 - Each competitor can participate in three modes, with only a work in each mode. And behind each work should include: Full name, nickname, Full Address, Phone, Email, and Category Entered, Title of the Work.

3 - For each of the modalities will be given 20 (TWENTY) Honorable Mentions, which will be determined by the number of points awarded by the judges to work competitors. By way of comment by competitors, the work will be analyzed in the following aspects:

* Development of the subjects offered (in all categories)

* Distortion and preservation of identity (in caricature form)

* Technical (all categories)

* Presentation (in all categories)

4 -To 20 (TWENTY) best artists in each discipline will be awarded certificates of Honorable Mentions of the 2nd FESTIMENC and their works will be exposed in the Cultural JORGE BENJOR, which is beside the railway station of Realengo.

5 - The first three placed in each category, according to the decision of the committee judges, will be awarded the following prizes:

1st, 2nd and 3rd place - special certificate Trophy + Project SORRIALENGO Kit (shirt, cap, key chain and a caricature in color produced by cartoonists of SORRIALENGO)

6 - For those prepared to work computer, its authors must send the art-final in size A3 to the address in item 8. WORK WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED ONLINE.

7 - Work winners become part of the file Project SORRIALENGO and can be run in future exhibitions, provided that they have to respect the disclosure of the design of humor and there are no profit with the same exposure and the authors are reported and have its claims and contacts exposed. And the other work may be withdrawn personally at the same address, until the day on March 20, 2008, Monday through Friday, from 14:00 pm to 17:00 pm on presentation of identity. After the day on March 20, 2008, all those works that are not withdrawn will be part of the file Project SORRIALENGO.

9 - The entry in the competition implies the acceptance by competitors of all terms of this regulation.

10 - If the committee judges is informed by one of the competitors on possible fraud or breach of any of the items of the regulation, it may dismiss the award, thereby giving that competitor who has then. Single paragraph: If any of the competitors have a complaint to make regarding potential fraud, for which the claim is examined by the judges, can not be made until the day before the awards. If not happen that way, it will be disregarded.

The financial crisis may leave Santa Claus, this year, with existential crisis and people may understand the real meaning of Christmas. The Brazilcartoon invites you, cartoonist, to participate in the Christmas Cartoon Contest Brazilcartoon. We will make a virtual exhibition and the most creative cartoon will receive a kit of materials for professional design and an official shirt of the website. مسابقه در سه بخش كارتون، كاريكاتور چهره و كميك برگزار مي شود.

1- هر كارتونيست مي تواند حداكثر 3 اثر براي هر بخش مسابقه ارسال كند. پشت هر اثر بايد اطلاعات زير ذكر گردد: نام كامل، آدرس پستي، تلفن، اي ميل، عنوان بخش مسابقه و عنوان اثر

2- جايزه نقدي وجود ندارد. جوايز بيست لوح تقدير در هر بخش مسابقه مي باشد. هر سه كارتونيست برنده در هر بخش لوح تقديري ويژه و همچنين بسته جوايز ويژه سوريالنگو را دريافت خواهد كرد. اين بسته شامل پيراهن، كلاه، جاكليدي و يك كاريكاتور رنگي خواهد بود.

3- آثار تنها بايد از طريق پست ارسال شوند.

4- آثار منتشر شده و يا برنده قبلي پذيرفته نمي شوند. آثاري كه در كتابها، كاتالوگها، روزنامه و يا مجله منتشر شده باشد، مورد قبول نيستند.

5- آثار مي تواند دست ساخت و يا آبرنگ باشد. در صورت ديجيتالي بودن اثر كه در فتوشاپ و يا كرل كار شده باشد، ابتدا بايد طرح آن ارسال گردد. اين عمل موجب ارسال آثاري كه واقعا ديجيتالي كار شده اند، مي باشد.

6- آثار 27 و 28 دي ماه داوري خواهند شد.

The results of Olense Kartoenale 2008
Olense Cartoenale 2008 with theme "Extreme Sports & Strange Hobbies" received 727 entries, sent in by 293 different participants from all over the world.
The winning cartoon for 2008 is from the U.S.A. and was designed by Ali Shahali.
The other prizes in the adult category went to:
- 2nd prize: L'Ubomir Kotrha (Slovakia);
- 3rd prize: Valentin Georgiev (Bulgaria);
- 4th prize: Heidari Shahrokh (Iran);
- 5th prize: Norbert Van Yperzeele (Belgium);
- Prize of the Province of Antwerp: Vernimme Luc (Belgium).
In the youth category first prize went to Aleksandar Petrikanovic from Serbia.
The other prizes went to:
- 2nd prize: Carolien Van Sas (Belgium);
- 3rd prize: Le Wu Gao (China);
- 4th prize: Agha Amini (Iran);

For the salvation of the species proposed the meeting in a world where we talk about emissions of carbon emissions and climate change, media manipulation, deforestation, desertification, inequality, war, unipolarity, xenophobia. Those who make you laugh and think being called a planet, where campea irrationality of the privileged to maintain their wealth and turn food into energy. INTERNATIONAL CARTOON  COMPETITION

«VISIT TO THE DENTIST»

PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT is to present an opportunity to the medical professionals in the field of dentistry to glance at their profession from the caricaturist’s point of view. Aching tooth so to speak has always been a widely exploited theme in literature, just to mention A. Chehov’s short stories like “Chirurgia” (“Surgery”), “Loshadinaia familia” ( “Horse-like last name”), and R. Burns’ poem “Ode to the tooth ache”. Almost every Flemish artist had a painting dedicated to the “extraction of a tooth” theme. Wilhelm Bush-the founder of modern comics also used a dentistry theme in his work. Why does dentistry inspire so much creativity?
Dentistry develops and improves constantly. Recent innovations in dental technology and treatment methods have changed dentistry dramatically over the past 20 years. We are very interested in the caricaturist’s point of view, and are curious if recent advances in dental science are being reflected in the work of modern artists and caricaturists. Are the reasons for the smiles and laughter the same as hundreds of years ago?
We are confident that items and creative ideas presented during this exhibit will be very helpful to our patients as well, because smiles and laughter are the best anesthetics before a trip to the dentist.

METHOD: Creation of an exhibit to present creative potential of artists and caricaturists from Russian Federation and other countries.

FORM: Organization of international caricature competitions and exhibits during the work of professional dental conferences, recognition of the most talented work, publishing of album-catalogs.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

Jury of the competition will accept and consider work presented in caricature category.

Items for the competition must be submitted before March 12, 2009.

International caricature competition will take place at the following address: Sanatorium “Detskoselskii”, Centralinaia St. 11 lit A, Detskoselskii, Pushkin, St. Petersburg

Exhibition will take place at the exhibit pavilion “LenExpo” during the work of XII-th International Stomatological Conference and “Stomatology 2009” exhibition in St. Petersburg from May 12, 2009 till May 14, 2009.

Press conference and presentation of the album-catalog of the exhibit.

32 participants, recognized by the competition’s jury and by spectator’s choice will receive rewards and prizes.

First place – one prize - 30000 rubles, and main prize – MARBLE WISDOM TOOTH.
Second place – 2 prizes – 15000 rubles.
Third place – 3 prizes – 10000 rubles.
The other 26 selected participants will receive Diplomas.

7. FORM OF PRESENTATION: Personalized card 10 x 15 cm format (book version or album version), only 5 cards can be presented to the competition by a single participant.
Participants can present their personalized cards for the competition in electronic format (TIFF, JPG with 300 Pixels/ Inch resolution).

8. During preliminary stage of the competition 96 items (personalized cards) will be selected; each one of them will be included in the catalog of exhibition. Organization committee of the competition will inform every participant in advance about a necessity to present original items (personalized cards) for the competition in a required format.

9. Items presented for the competition will not be returned and can be used by the organization committee as it sees fit.

10. Participation in the competition means an agreement and acceptance of the above rules and regulations.

48. Knokke-Heist International Cartoonfestival 2008

1. PARTICIPATION
This contest is open to anybody aged at least 18. By the simple fact of participating, all contestants accept the conditions and provisions of these regulations and agree to abide by the decisions of the jury. There will be no correspondance about this competition. The Belgian law is applied as far as the tax on the prizes awarded to foreign participants is concerned.

2. THEMES:
A. No theme ( free)

3. ENTRIES -In total 5 cartoons
3.1 The entries
a) must be original cartoons; in black and white or in colour
b) may not as yet have been exhibited in Belgium, nor have won a prize at another festival.
c) may bear no captions
d) must be sent
- either flat and not folded
- or not folded, rolled in a hard case
Remark : The entries (dimensions, number, etc.) and the registration form (signature, date of birth) which do not comply with the above mentioned articles will not be taken into consideration for the international competition and will be returned to the sender.

4. DIMENSIONS OF THE CARTOONS
A : min. 21 cm and max. 42 cm
B : min. 30 cm and max. 60 cm.
Cartoons already under glass, framed or on other materials than paper will not be eligible for the exhibition.

5. ENTRY FORM
Your participation will only be taken into account if your entry form carries your date of birth as well as your signature. Every cartoon must state the surname and first name of the author on the back. Postage must be paid by the participants.

6. PROPERTY RIGHTS
By the mere fact of taking part in the contest, the participants empower the organizing association to make use of their entries for promotional purposes on behalf of the International Cartoon festival and the seaside resort of Knokke-Heist (cartoonbook, catalogue, publicity in the press and other media, posters, folders, calendar, official gifts by the local authorities and/or the festivals organizers, etc.)

7. JURY
Among the entries, a jury makes a selection for the exhibition and appoints the prize-winners.

8. ADMISSION TO THE EXHIBITION
Upon presentation of the receipt of their entries, all contestants will be admitted to the exhibition without charge.

9. PROPERTY OF THE ORGANIZING ASSOCIATION
All award-winning entries will become property of the organizing association. The organizing association will have the option to retain one drawing at the most of every contestant whose work was selected. Article 6. will be applicable.

10. CATALOGUE / CARTOONBOOK
In cooperation with the" Davidsfonds Leuven "a catalogue / cartoonbook will be edited according to the technical and financial means. Selected participants are entitled to one catalogue.

11. RETURN MAIL
The charges for returning such works as will not become the property of the organizing association will be borne by the latter. The organizers will endeavour to handle the return forwardings with the utmost care but cannot be held responsible for loss or damages.

Tanım: Karikatür, mizahi bir resimdir. Ünlü bir kişinin portresi olabileceği gibi, gerçek bir durumun parodisi ya da salt komik bir durumun tasviri dahi olabilir. Dijital çalışmalar bir CD-ROM içinde kayıtlı olarak gönderilirse kabul edilecektir ( Bu durumda eserler A3 veya A4 boyutta olmalı, TIFF format ve 300 dpi çözünürlükte taranmalı). Eserler paspartulu, ya da camlı, çerçeveli ise yarışmaya katılmaz.
b. Canlandırma (animasyon) karikatür: En çok 3 eser. Her eser en fazla 15 dak. olabilir. Eserler DVD (PAL) kayıtlı olarak yollanmalıdır. URL aracılığıyla yapılmış yüklemeler (YouTube, MySpace, Google Video veya Quicktime) kabul edilmez. Demo versiyonlar değil, tam çalışma isteniyor. İngilizce veya Hollandaca kullanılmalı, ya da bu dillerden birinde altyazı konmalıdır.
Katılım formu özellikle doğum tarihi bölümü doldurulup imzalanarak mutlaka gönderilmeli. Her eserin arka yüzünde sanatçı soyadı (SURNAME) ve adı (NAME) bulunmalı.
